Who We Are
Our mission statement answers the question,“who is this church and what is it seeking to do?” It is the statement that guides us we decide who we strive to be and what we strive to do. It is carefully articulated statement that seeks to encompass the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in light of the unique people and culture of our city.
Treasuring Christ Church exists to glorify God by making disciples who together delight in, declare, and display the gospel in all of life and for the good of Ann Arbor
Delight In, Declare and Display refers to how we respond to the gospel. It also describes who we will be and how we will accomplish our mission as gospel-centered people. We believe that committing to these three core rhythms as we gather together and scatter throughout our community will yield gospel fruit in Ann Arbor if we are committed to them for the long haul. Everything we do as a church must fit within this simple strategy. We will equip and people and train leaders within our rhythms.
Delight, Declare and Display the Gospel
We were made to know and delight in God. We were hardwired to worship. But we rebelled against the God we were made to enjoy. The good news of the gospel is that we have been redeemed by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. At Treasuring Christ, we seek to invite others, Christians and non-Christians alike, to find their joy and satisfaction in Jesus Christ, who created us and redeemed us.
The gospel is by its very nature something we must share. Jesus lived the life we could not live in perfect obedience to the Father, He died the death we deserved to die upon the cross, and He rose from the dead victorious as Lord over all. If He is Lord over all, then He must be declared to all people and in all of life. At Treasuring Christ, we declare the gospel through faithfully preaching God’s Word, gathering together regularly, and engaging others with the gospel in our daily lives.
The gospel is best displayed when we are being transformed by it. Therefore, we seek to spur one another on to be more like Jesus in our daily lives, relationships, and work. We also desire to seek justice, show mercy, love selflessly, and humbly serve others in our community and around the world. At Treasuring Christ, we put the gospel on display before a watching world as we gather weekly, love our neighbors, and live our lives on mission.
We are transformed by the truth of God’s Word.
We believe the age-old gospel is good news for all people.
We were made to worship and God is worthy of our worship in all of life.
The church is not just where you attend, it is a family to which you belong.
Making disciples who make disciples is foundational to everything we do.
Mercy & Justice
We seek to reflect the heart of God for the most vulnerable through word and deed.
We advance the gospel through living on mission in everyday life and sending laborers to plant and revitalize churches.
